California-based chip manufacturer Intel has recently shared its future high-performance computing offerings with the Falcon Shores GPU.

At the ISC High-Performance Conference in Hamburg, Germany, Jeff McVeigh, corporate vice president and general manager of the Super Compute Group at Intel, presented us with some incredible announcements:

  • Falcon Shores was initially planned to be Intel's first XPU (a combined CPU and GPU) but is now being reconfigured as a purely GPU product due to market consideration.

  • The Falcon Shores GPU will be released in 2025 and maintains a chiplet-based design (packed with memory)

  • Falcon Shores will include AI processors from the Gaudi family and target both high-performance computing and AI applications (continuously building on itself)

  • The move to a discrete GPU provides customers with more options for various workloads and allows vendors more flexibility in system design with different CPUs (more choices to build your own computer)

  • Intel's OneAPI toolkit will be used for executing on the Falcon Shores GPU and other accelerators that will be included

This may all seem like tech jumbo, and it is - but it’s precisely this tech jumbo that will propel Intel to heights most of us cannot imagine.

The CEO of Blockchain.com has recently drawn attention to the potential fallout of a US default on the cryptocurrency sector.

Despite the decentralization cryptocurrencies are known for, they can still be subject to traditional market disruptions. This highlights the need for crypto investors to have a comprehensive understanding of both the crypto market and traditional financial systems.

In the event of a US default, the economic fallout could create significant volatility in the crypto market. This could result in a challenging environment for crypto investors and traders. If it gets to that point it could potentially open up new opportunities for those prepared to navigate through the turbulence.

Chip manufacturer Nvidia has been hitting many home runs recently. The tech giant is approaching a $1 Trillion dollar market cap and does not look to be slowing down anytime soon.

The increase in Nvidia's stock price came in the wake of the company's forecast, which projected second-quarter revenues exceeding Wall Street estimates by over 50%. The company also plans to broaden advertising and increase supply to meet the growing demand for its AI chips (using AI to generate ad creatives).

Nvidia's business has been up only, beginning with the pandemic which led to a rise in gaming, a surge in cloud adoption, and increased use of its chips for crypto mining. Nvidia's stock still ranks as the fourth most shorted in the U.S., trailing behind Apple, Tesla, and Microsoft.

For 2023, short sellers of Nvidia have so far suffered nearly $9 billion in mark-to-market losses. Keep chugging Nvidia we’re rooting for you!
